Meet Our Team
The People Behind Heaven & Alvarez LLC
Our strength comes from the experience, care, and dedication of our team. We are proud to have a group of CPAs, accountants, tax professionals, and client support specialists who work together to provide reliable financial guidance for individuals and businesses.
From tax preparation and accounting to payroll, QuickBooks support, business planning, and client service, each member of our team plays an important role in helping clients feel organized, informed, and confident.
Founder & CPA
Ranae has been in public accounting since 1984 and founded her own firm in 1991. With decades of experience in tax and accounting services, she has worked with hundreds of businesses over the years, providing tax planning, business consulting, and accounting support.
She holds a Master’s Degree in Taxation from Georgia State University.
Ranae is a long-time resident of Gwinnett County and currently lives in historic downtown Norcross. She is a past president of the American Women’s Society of CPAs of Georgia and remains active in professional and local business organizations, including the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Georgia Society of CPAs, Peachtree Corners Business Association, and Southwest Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce.
Partner & CPA
Carlos is a CPA with more than 13 years of experience in tax and accounting. He is a graduate of Georgia State University and has worked across a wide range of industries, serving companies from small businesses to Fortune 1000 and multinational corporations.
Carlos is active in the community and serves as Board Member and Treasurer of the Langford Close Homeowners Association. He is also a member of the Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, the Southwest Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce, and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Fluent in Spanish, Carlos also supports Latino entrepreneurs through business tax and accounting education. Outside of work, he is a member of the Atlanta Track Club.
Tax Manager
Taylor joined Heaven & Alvarez LLC in December 2020 with more than five years of experience in tax. He earned his Bachelor’s in Accounting from Kennesaw State University and continues to build his professional knowledge in accounting and tax.
Taylor lives in Southwest Atlanta with his girlfriend and their two cats. Outside the office, he is a passionate traveler and an avid cyclist.
Senior Accountant
Persephone brings more than 10 years of experience in tax and over eight years of experience in accounting. She has an Associate’s Degree in Legal Assisting from Gulf Coast State College and an MBA in Accounting from American Intercontinental University.
She also holds a Life, Health, and Accident Insurance license in the state of Georgia.
Before relocating to Atlanta in 2013, Persephone worked in Panama City, Florida as a paralegal for Legal Services of NW Florida and as an Office Manager for Liberty Tax Service. She later worked as a night auditor at the Burgess Hotel, formerly known as the Wingate by Wyndham-Buckhead. Since 2020, she has worked in public accounting and tax.
In her spare time, Persephone enjoys bowling, writing music, and attending comedy and live music shows.
Staff Accountant
Kevin is a Staff Accountant with more than five years of experience as a bookkeeper in public accounting. While working as a bookkeeper, he earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Georgia Gwinnett College.
Kevin has experience working with clients across a variety of industries, including construction, food service, and other small business sectors.
Kevin is Colombian and fluent in Spanish. In his spare time, he enjoys playing soccer and training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
Staff Accountant
Bess is a native Atlantan who attended schools in Dekalb and Gwinnett counties. She earned her accounting degree from Mercer University and currently resides in Duluth.
Her professional background includes public accounting, imported Italian food, business ownership, and logistics work at the Atlanta airport. This wide-ranging experience gives her a practical perspective when supporting clients with their accounting needs.
Outside of work, Bess enjoys gardening.
Tax Associate
Julie has been working with Heaven & Alvarez LLC since 1997, preparing individual tax returns and supporting clients through tax season.
She has lived in Peachtree Corners for more than 40 years and is an avid tennis player.
Before joining Heaven & Alvarez LLC, Julie worked at H&R Block.
Tax Intern
Christian joined Heaven & Alvarez LLC as a Tax Intern while pursuing his bachelor’s degree in accounting at Oglethorpe University. Since then, he has continued to grow his experience in tax preparation and client support.
Christian started working at a young age in fast food and later worked at Home Depot, where he became the only person in our office who knows how to operate a forklift.
He also played soccer throughout his childhood and continued playing on the soccer team at Oglethorpe University. His strong work ethic, team mindset, and accounting education make him a valued part of the firm.
Office Manager
Jessica joined Heaven & Alvarez LLC as Office Manager in November 2022. She has more than 10 years of experience in administrative support and has worked with people from many different backgrounds and professional settings.
Jessica is passionate about creating a welcoming office environment and providing great support to clients.
She was born and raised in Austin, Texas, and currently lives in Georgia. Her hobbies include traveling, dancing, and spending time with her children and two dogs.
